This video shows how to make a tight coil to any one who is starting out their Quilling journey. And also showcases the other types of coils which are there.
To begin with let's just take out a strip out the bunch very gently, we do not want to unhinged the Strips tsunami. Now that our strip is separated, Let's insert that into the Quilling needle - for all of you who are new to Quilling art- A quilling needle is different than the one we use for sewing.
Quilling needle is a tool which allows you to make small centers in rolls and scrolls which produces more attractive quilling.
Even when you are starting out Quilling needle is an absolute necessity, do not even think that you would just start rolling with your fingers, with all the short duration content on the rise - I can tell we do not have the patience.
So once you have the strip inserted in between the split of the Quilling needle, Start rolling it anti-clockwise.
Roll the strip to the end without letting it loose, once we have rolled up to the end let's paste the end using a craft glue. And here we have our coil ready. There! the easiest and crucial part of the Quilling Art is now learnt!
The coil we just made is called a Tight coil. This is the basic coil, Now if we want to Make shapes using coils, Then we have to let the strips in the coil loosen a bit so we can fold and form a shape out of it by pinching or pressing.
The other coils we can see here is a ring coil, a very much loose coil and a lightly loose coil.
