Take a challenge to recreate the refraction of light at your home using the following material as shown in the video. Share a video of what did you observe.
Materials Needed:
Principal: When light passes from one medium to another it appears to be bending.
Refraction is an effect that occurs when a light wave, incident at an angle passes from one medium (air here) to another (water here).
This is because of the speed of light changes in different mediums. So when light reflected from the coin passes from water and enters air the speed changes and thus the coin hidden inside the cup seeps visible as it is seen in an apparent position. The same happens when you put a pencil in glass and it seems to be bending. This is called the refraction of light.
